Mat Whitecross, director and friend of the band, who filmed their first official video for Bigger Stronger and those for Violet Hill (Dancing Politicians), Lovers in Japan and Lost!, announced that he will film the two gigs the band is going to play next Saturday and Sunday, March 6 and 7, at Foro Sol in Mexico City.
In Mexico to present his last film "The Shock Doctrine", he said that "last year they called and said they wanted to do several things, one was to film them in the studio making the album Viva La Vida [...] In one year, two or five maybe, they'll want to make a documentary, but for now I'll film them in Mexico City, it's very important for them to come back to this country because it was an inspiration for their album".

A few weeks ago, Reactor 105 (Mexico station) had the opportunity to talk by telephone with Coldplay drummer Will Champion, whilst he was in the studio. The context of the interview is as expected - discussing the band's visit to Mexico, and the concerts in Mexico City, Guadalajara and Monterrey. Finally, almost a month after Reactor 105 first mentioned this interview with Will, it is available for audio download.

Red Cross Chile Earthquake Appeal |

Wednesday, 03 March 2010 11:14 |
|

Although Coldplay's current tour of Latin America hasn't taken them to Chile, the band have been extremely saddened by reports of the terrible earthquake which hit the country on 27 February. This was one of the largest quakes ever recorded, killing hundreds of people. The Chilean government estimates that around two million people have been affected by the disaster (with around 1.5 million homes damaged).
The British Red Cross has set up an appeal to raise funds for their response work. In partnership with emergency services, they are on the ground, carrying out search and rescue operations and damage assessments, and giving medical assistance where necessary.
You can make a donation to their appeal by clicking here.

Nuclear disarmament Message by Coldplay |

No rational person should want nuclear weapons in the world. As long as they exist, the destruction of the human race (and all life on Earth) is only a few button-pushes away. Today, there are still 23,000 nuclear weapons in the world (enough to destroy all life on Earth several times over). It is far from impossible that one of these weapons could fall into the hands of terrorists.
